Thomas Franks, The Big Feed, providing 10,000 Free, Fresh Meals to the Vulnerable
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Thomas Franks Ltd, in conjunction with The Thomas Franks Foundation, has worked tirelessly to deliver meals and provide supplies to those in need through our Feeding Communities project. With generous donations and continued support from our clients and suppliers, we have to date provided over 70,000 free fresh, healthy, and nutritious meals, and food parcels.
Following on from the Feeding Communities project, Founder, Frank Bothwell is keen to raise awareness of the extent of food poverty in the UK and to unite supporters to help alleviate the suffering caused by food poverty.
As reported in The Guardian, there are over 5 million families in food poverty the UK, a situation which has been exacerbated by measures to combat COVID-19. At Thomas Franks we are working with local food projects, food banks, family centres and meal distribution, to try reducing the number of families affected by hunger and lack of food.
Thomas Franks launched ‘The Big Feed’ campaign, to provide ten thousand free meals across the UK, in London, Birmingham, Greater Manchester, Edinburgh, Fife, Yorkshire, Reading and seven more regions.
We ‘hit’ our target of ten thousand free meals, in fact, Thomas Franks actually provided just shy of 15,000 free, fresh meals.
